Regular Course (Two-year program with certificate awarded each year)

The Regular Course is a two-year program (4 terms, starting in September) aimed at fostering the next generation of professional literary translators. The curriculum includes Practical Translation, Style in Translation, and Understanding Korean Culture & Literature.

Languages
  • 7 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese)
Course Outline
  • Duration: 2 years (4 terms)
  • Enrollment: September (Autumn Term)
Schedule
  • 3~5 classes per week / weekdays (09:00~18:00) / 12 weeks per term
  • Fellowship students: 1st Year - 15 hours per week, 5 classes / 2nd Year - 12 hours per week, 4 classes
  • General students: 9 hours per week, 3 classes

    * Timetables to be sent out separately before the start of term.

  • Understanding Korean Culture & Literature Understanding (core courses)

Eligibility
  • Foreigners and overseas Koreans who are not resident in Korea.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree.

Fellowship / Academic Scholarship
  • Monthly stipend (1.6 million KRW)

    *Fellowship students are not allowed to work or engage in commercial activities in Korea.

    * Poor performance or attendance may result in a reduction in stipend.

  • Academic scholarships available (500,000 KRW per month, 3 months per term)
