Regular Course (Two-year program with certificate awarded each year)

From the Autumn Term of 2023, the Media Translation Course (1 year / Korean webtoons and films) will be integrated into the Regular Course (2 years, Korean literary works). The new Regular Course (4 terms in 2 years, starting in August) will train professional translators of Korean literature and culture content.

Languages
  • 7 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese)
Course Outline
  • Duration: 2 years (4 terms)
  • Enrollment: August (Autumn Term)
Schedule
  • 3~5 classes per week / weekdays (09:00~18:00) / 15 weeks per term
  • 15 hours per week, 5 classes (9 hours per week and 3 classes in the 4th term)

    * Timetables to be sent out separately before the start of term.

Curriculum
  • Korean Literature, Practical Translation of Korean Cultural Content (language-specific)
  • Understanding Korean Culture & Literature Understanding (core courses)
Admission
  • Up to 10 students for each language group (Including both fellowship and general students)

Eligibility
  • Foreigners and overseas Koreans who are not resident in Korea.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree.

Fellowship / Academic Scholarship
  • Monthly stipend (1.6 million KRW)

    *D-4-2 visa holders must not engage in commercial activities in Korea.

    * Poor performance or attendance may result in a reduction in stipend.
